Power Query direct to Excel and creating new tables

I have been using Power BI to take multiple JSON files and create various tables (reports). These are then exported to Excel - What I am looking to do is bring the JSON files straight to Excel using Power Query. How would I create a new table using some of the data from the data from the query?  I know how to do it in PBI but this seems different. Any references to resources that go through this?

    Hi Jim,

     

    Silly question, I'm sure, but have you tried just copying all the code from a working query in PBI Power Query using Advanced Editor and pasting into a new blank query in Excel Power Query?

    This should work in exactly the same way between the two of them.
