Power Query - Sharepoint: clearing permissions when file opens (or never save permissions)

Hi, All.

#1

When loading a sharepoint file to PowerQuery, I need to enter sharepoint permissions (organization) and Excel stores those permissions.

Is there a way for Excel to ask for permission every time someone opens the file?

The file is to be shared within the organization; I want to make sure only those with proper sign-in privileges can see data.

I have been able to manually clear permissions using "data source settings", but not sure how to do it so that I can have the connection and clear it next time someone opens the file.

#2 Is there any way to see in SharePoint or excel or anything, how many times the data connection is accessed? sort of analytics for data queries.

Thanks a lot!

Hello @Anonymous

as far as I know, the credentials are not stored in the file, but on the profile of the computer. So, as soon you pass the file to another computer or the file is opened by another profile, the credentials are no longer there and have to enter the credentials as soon as a refresh is executed.
