I am using Power BI pro online. My data is held inside of a SQL Server View. I am using direct query because the data in the view changes daily.
On my dashboard, I get this error:
There is no available gateway. Couldn't load the data for this visual
How do I resolve the error? Under gateways, I created one called default and I added my database connection string. I connected to multiple databases, but the one for the report connects successfully.

It depends. What is "Windows Azure?" There are a lot of services in Azure, and most support a gateway, and some require it, but even those that do not will need a gateway depending on how you connected and set the report up. See this article. Furthermore, there are more specific Direct Query issues to be aware of where gateways are required here.

MCSA: BI ReportingPlease see this article @syncwithconnex - Troubleshooting gateways. You'll need to get log information and track down the specific issue, or post back here with more info on why it won't connect.

MCSA: BI ReportingHi,
My data is hosted on Windows Azure. Why do I need a gateway? When I use import, the query works fine. When I use direct query, it breaks. My problem is when I change the data in my view, my report fails to update. If I use import, how do I refresh the data? Maybe I just need to use import instead of direct query.
How do I pull the log? I just see this:
Couldn't load the data for this visual
Couldn't retrieve the data for this visual. Please try again later.
