Power BI Embed Code Issue with MS Dynamics Direct Query

Hello,

We have an MS Dynamics environment from which I pull data using Direct Query. I have created a report with this data. I want to publish this report on the web. I have configured the publish to web and other settings in the Admin Center. However, I still cannot generate an embed code. For reports I create with Excel-sourced data, I can get embed codes. Can you help me with this issue? How can I resolve this problem? I added a screenshot .  I pushed the Publish button dont be anything.

Hi @rumeysacoskun,

Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum. The behavior you describe in screenshot is expected. As already mentioned by @MFelix, publish to web doesn’t support reports that use DirectQuery, because Publish to web makes the report and its underlying data publicly available and DirectQuery models query live data. That combination isn’t allowed. See Microsoft’s Publish to web docs for the limitation. Kindly go through the documentation link provided to get a better understanding of the limitation.

I would also take a moment to thank @MFelix, for actively participating in the community forum and for the solutions you’ve been sharing in the community forum. Your contributions make a real difference.

If I misunderstand your needs or you still have problems on it, please feel free to let us know.

Best Regards,

Hi @rumeysacoskun ,

That is one of the limitations for publish to web you cannot use Direct Query connection, amongst other type of connections. It is related with security questions since has the warning message the report data can be fully accesible
