On-premises data gateway: update / install failed
Hi, I got an update for my On-premises data gateway, but I there were errors in the installation. So I deleted it, tried to reinstall but still got errors (1307 or 1601). This was the log of...
Do you uninstall gateway from control panel? If so, after uninstalling the gateway, delete the “c:\Program Files\on-premises data gateway” folder, reboot your machine and re-install the gateway.
If you still fail to install gateway, please post the gateway setup log which can be found in %localappdata%\Temp\On-premises_data_gateway_*.log for us to analyze.

Uninstalling from Control Panel > Programs and Features, restarting, and reinstalling worked for me. Didn't have to delete anything in either PRogram Files folders, as the uninstaller removed it. Didn't touch anything in AppData either.
