On-Premise Data Gateway, Data Source cannot connect with Analysis Services
Just finished isntalling the on premise gateway. I am able to connect a data source to my database when it is set to "SQL Server" but when I change it to Analysis Services I am getting error regarding Either the user, xxx, does not have access to the XYZ database, or the database does not exist.:
Do I need to have a service or something else running at the server end to use the gateway with Analysis Services?

Firstly, after you add a data source for SQL Server database under gateway, you are not able to change the type of the data source to SSAS. But you can remove the existing data source by using Remove button as shown in the following screenshot.
Secondly, when you add new data source for SSAS database, please post the exact error message that you get about credential. And I would recommend you check if you can successfully connect to the SSAS database using SQL Server Management Studio(SSMS), if there is no issue with using SSMS, please enter same user name and password when adding SSAS data source under gateway.

Anonymous First, I assume you have SSAS installed and the user you are trying to connect with has permissions on the instance.
Second, have you tried to create a seperate new data source for the SSAS connection instead of changing the source type on the existing one? My initial guess is that something is cached with that connection that is causing issues if you try to flip the connection type.
