Not able to connect to CSV file on OneDrive Personal

Hi,

When trying to establish connection with a csv file hosted on my Onedrive personal account, it terminates unsuccessfully with error message: (sorry it's in French)

Nous n'avons pas pu importer les données depuis OneDrive - Personal

I'm logged in with my enterprise account on Power BI, with my personal ID on Onedrive, but does not look as a root cause given what I found on PowerBI KMDB.

Note: it does not work either with my OneDrive Enterprise.

Anyone has an idea of possible cause for this failure?

Thanks in advance for help and support.

Kind regards,

Jerome

jrmchlt It for sure should be working with your business account... Did you use "Web" as the data source in the Desktop / follow this guide?

    Hi jrmchlt,

I can successfully connect to CSV file located at OneDrive from Power BI Service. In your scenario, please connect to CSV file from Power BI Desktop and check if you get any issues.

To connect to CSV file located at OneDrive for business, please follow the guide that Eno1978 posted.

To connect to CSV file located at OneDrive for personal, please enter the following URL in “Get Data->Web” entry in Power BI Desktop,  replace the bold parts with the resid and authkey that are found by right-clicking on the specific CSV file and selecting “Embed”. And please choose Basic authentication type when connecting to the CSV file.

     https://onedrive.live.com/download?resid=AAXXXX&authkey=AAXXXXXXX&em=x&app=CSV

    Thanks,
