Hi @Anonymous,
Can you try using any other field with text or number as datatype in the slicer and change the setting to 'List'?
See if the option of orientation is appearing.
If it is, change the setting to horizontal and then drag the required field.
Let me know if it works
Yes it is working for datatype as Number or Text but not for Date. Is the functionality not available to do so for dates?

This is not a solution. The timeline slicer, while it works, has too many UX issues. Way too big. Can't reverse sort. It's a good start but its limitations make it unuseable in an enterprise environment with 30-50 years of data.
Nothing like that.
Probably check your the version of your Power BI if it is the updated one.
It is working for me with the Version: 2.88.1144.0 32-bit (December 2020)
Also, try to follow the suggested approach in this thread-https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Issue-Slicer-does-not-have-Orientation-in-Power-BI-Desktop-...
in case it works.
HI @Anonymous ,
Please change the slicer to "List" and then you would be able to change the orientation.
Hi ,
It is already as list but I am still not getting that option .
Microsoft has introduced a new horizontal slicer, check this article:
https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/new-slicer-button-public-preview/
I did help me to create buttons in horizontal slicers
