Month - 3 Character abbrevition or short form

Normally, I would solve this with a separete Date Dimension which is connected to the date attribute of your fact table. Then, in that Date Dimension, I would have all sorts of date related columns showing different formats of that date, i.e. YYYYMM, MMM, yyyy-mm-dd, but also stuff like IsWeekend, SameDayPreviousYear etc. Then all you need to do is to drag in the attribute you need for your Visuals and use case.

Please create a Lookup table for Month in Power Query as Enter Data

2. Update sort order as per your requirement
3. Load the table
4. Select the Month_Short_Name col and change the SORT BY Sort_Order col

5. Create a relationship the existing table with Month_Full_Name col
5. Use the Month_Short_Name col in your visual
