Looking to import SSAS or tabular Analysis Services model into Power BI (NOT Live Connection)

Dear all

We have a tabular SSAS model which I simply am not able to import.
When importing, you cannot select all tables as they all end up being combined, similar to when working with OLAP cubes.

Then I figured that I could simply load the tables individually and select the measures for the tables where they were needed.
But I cannot configure my own data model as all IDs/Keys are not loaded or visible at all.

Microsoft, is it not posible to convert a SSAS data model into Power BI via the import functionality?

I am not all interested in the live data feed, the hit on load times and user experience is way to steep.
Has anyone solved this?

Kind regards
Daniel

  • No. When working with SSAS, you currently only get access as a Live Connection. Power BI itself is a runtime version of SSAS.

If you want the underlying SQL tables, you will need to use the SQL Server connector in Power Query/Power BI.
