Logging in to Power BI

So the company that I work at just got me a pro license for Power Bi. I have used it before at other company's. When the license was assigned to me it was not linked to my Microsoft password like it has been at every other time. The password was reset and created for me by another person in our IT department. Why is this? How can we get it to be in sync with active directory or Microsoft 360?

    OK, sounds odd. So, at this new company, you have an Office 365 business account that you log into to get your email and stuff like that or no?

     

    I you are the first person to access Power BI at this company and they do not use Office 365 then you may have ended up creating a "shadow tenant". Tough to say though unless you can be very specific about your situation.

      So when I asked our IT guy if we had O365 he said sort of. It seems we have it but it is not totally integrated with Microsoft. This is most likely where the problem is steming from, correct?
