Loading query (connection only/table/pivot) is much faster without added to Data Model, why?

Hi there,

 

I have tried to load my query first time without added to Data Model and loading speed is lightning fast. Later, I loaded the same query again with added to Data Model and the loading speed is taking forever to finish.

 

May I know why and what has caused such drastic change in loading performance? Thank you

    The Power Query UI only loads previews of the data sources (query folding permitting).  Once you load into Power BI / the data model then all the data is loaded.
