Link to a SharePoint folder in a Power Query / French : Lien vers un dossier SharePoint dans requête

Hello,
I am having trouble using a link to a SharePoint folder in Power Query.
The searches and solutions proposed on this forum have not resolved the issue.
The folder I want to access is not the root of SharePoint; it is a subfolder (and this is the problem because I cannot reach this folder with the "New Source / File / SharePoint Folder" function). There is no window allowing me to browse and access subfolders.
Other workaround solutions do not allow sharing:

  • Using the synchronized folder link "C:\Users\id#\Dossier1\dossier2" (from Windows Explorer) only works on my PC. But this is an Excel file (and thus a Power Query) shared with others.
  • Using the link provided in SharePoint "https://sharepoint.com/sites/Folder1/Folder2/...." Power Query does not recognize it as a folder.

In short, I feel like I’ve tried everything, but I still can't get my query to work!
It only works on my PC with the link "C:\Users\id#\Dossier1\dossier2," but not on my colleagues' PCs with whom I share this Excel file (containing these Power Query queries).

Is there a solution? One that would be very helpful for me and many other users.

Thanks in advance.

Message original en français :

Bonjour,

Merci d'avance

Hi @Nicolas44

The SharePoint folder connector is the intended way to do this.

THere is no popup to select a folder, but you are able to filter on path.

My recommendation is to use the SharePoint Folder connector, and then filter on path to get only the documents in the folder you want.

  1. Data → Get Data → SharePoint Folder
  2. Enter the site root URL (not the folder URL), e.g.
    https://yourtenant.sharepoint.com/sites/YourSite
  3. In the table returned, filter the Folder Path column to your subfolder, for example it should contain something like:
    .../Shared Documents/Folder1/Folder2/
  4. Then filter Extension if needed and combine files.
