Issue with updating credentials in dataset

Hi,

I am having issues with updating credentials in dataset after uplading report to Power BI online.

My report is using data from excel file via sharepoint.

I have changed credentials in :

Datasets - Data source credentials - Here I have used authentification method as OAuth2, after saving it, it is not saved.

Solved it!

I have moved excel file into workspace OneDrive, so no gateway needed.

Capture.JPGCapture1.JPGI do update values only.

@Anonymous,

Could you please post a screenshot about gateway connection in your scenario? Are you able to refresh a single dataset that only contains the Excel data source?

Hi,

I have installed gateway personal, now is dataset refreshing only data from SAP HANA.

I have tried update excel file and refresh dataset, nothing changed.

@Anonymous,

What changes do you make to the Excel? Have you checked that if there are any message in Refresh history? And how about you manually refresh the Power BI Report in Service?

Lydia

Hi,

It looks like I don't have any of these.

@Anonymous,

In your scenario, do you take merge/append operations using table of SAP hana and table of Excel files in Power BI Desktop? If so, you would need to use personal model gateway to refresh your dataset.

However, if there is no merge/append operations, you can use on-premises gateway to refresh your dataset, and you would need to add SAP hana data source within the gateway.

Hi,

All data are loading in Power Bi Desktop from Sharepoint(OneDrive).

Yes, I do use Work account via Microsoft.

I have tried to remove dataset and republish multiple time, nothing helps.

Kind regards,

Rasty

@Anonymous,

In Power BI Desktop, please go to File->Options and Settings->Data Source settings, and then post a screenshot about your data sources here.

Yes, exactly.

@Anonymous,

Do you update credential in Power BI Desktop? Do you use Microsoft Account in Power BI Desktop? And how about you remove the dataset in Power BI Service and re-publish it?

Lydia

@Anonymous,

Do you connect to Excel file of SharePoint Online? If so, what authentication option in Power BI Desktop do you use? And what do you mean that "it is not saved"?

Lydia
