Indexing files by .json value

Hi,

I have 50 folders with horrible names (e.g. "location-2828272727") with 2 kinds of data I need:

-Data.json: contains an attribute "locationName" with the proper location name a human could understand e.g. "Barcelona", "Madrid", etc
-Reviews.json: contains the actual data I want to sort by city (contained in the data.json)

Easiest way to sort all the reviews.json by the name contained in the data.json file?

Thanks in advance

  • I just found the way. For the record:

Once you have two different files in the same folder you can combine the 2 tables by the "location folder" attribute column.

    Thanks Ibendlin for the advice.

  • You can run a couple of transforms in Power Query for that mapping.  Please provide sanitized sample data that fully covers your issue. Please show the expected outcome based on the sample data you provided.
