Importing an Excel 2013 powerpivot model and getting strange errors/behaviours

Hi,

i'm working with an Excel file which seems very poorly constructed.

I'd like to pose some questions about importing Excel 2013 files and PowerBI.

  • PowerBI desktop [fully updated] has an error, which already has been corrected in PowerBI online. Have you experienced this?

  • These errors made me work in PowerBI online, but i need an atribute which was hidden in Powerpivot model when the Excel file was uploaded to PowerBI online; is there any way to make it visible without upload the Excel document again?... (Explore doesn’t seem to do anything over data set)
  • And now, a strange (at least for me) error in this integration…: my Data dimension comes from Excel with a date, ex. 1997-12-03, this attribute is present in PowerBI’s dataset as such, but when I drag it to a table with a set of attributes it transforms into a set of day/month/quarter/year (quarter doesn’t even exist in Excel, from what I can remember!); moreover, if I drag month or day attribute it immediately “blows” the table (year works) … I can’t find the prinscreen but the message wasn’t clear…I haven’t defined anything for this attribute, not seem anything in Excel file, but it seems to be internally working as an hierarchy!... Can you understand this?

  • Finally, I’ve noticed that dim date has one only one entry for years 1997 and 2000, and then from 2002 till today, this will certainly affect any date metrics?

Kind regards
