Import data from Google Analytics

Hi everyone,

I have a question about the following; when I connect Power BI towards my Google Analytics account, I get a empty database.
There should be data in there, but I cannot see/use it. Does anyone know what I should do to see the data in there?

Hi @Luckylucdr were you able to find a solution? I used the GA native connector but had some issues with my data sometimes. As a workaround, maybe you can try to test your connection with a 3rd party connector. I've tried windsor.ai, supemetrics (which doesn't have PBI as a destination, so you first have to export to Google Sheets and then export to PBI) and funnel.io. I stayed with windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the GA connector in the data sources list:

After that, just grant access to your GA account using your credentials, then on preview and destination page you will see a preview of your GA fields:

There just select the fields you need. Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.

Hi @Luckylucdr ,

Please check whether the credentials have visible permissions to Google Analytics.
Try to cleare the permission in the data source settings and then reconnect.

There are some kind of possibilites that you might cause this issue:

• There are restrictions on the dimensions and metric values for a single API call.
• Google Analytics automatically samples data for high-traffic web pages.
• This often results in wrong values being displayed as Power BI doesn’t let you check if the required dataset was sampled or not.
• The dataset gets aggregated automatically and hence creating new averages or aggregations for such values isn’t possible.
