Import Data from Tabular - Dates are changed to string!

Hi Everyone!

Any idea why when importing data from a SSAS Tabular database, dates (and also ints) are converted to string in PowerBi Desktop?

Thanks

Hi @karimdiouf - it is possible that you are connecting to Analysis using an MDX or DAX query.  The results received will effectively appear as text strings.  The data transfer will not include the metadata about the data types.  You can use the TransformColumnTypes in Power Query to fix the Data Types.
