Huge file size after loading data into power query

Hello all,

I have a data set loaded in power query of around 26MBs. The problem is the resultant file is appearing to be around 45 MBs. What could I have done wrong? Please note I also want to load the data as tables, since I need to check values afterwards.

    Hi FS_54 

     

    Where are you using Power Query? What is the data source of the original data set? Usually if you use Power BI, the data will be compressed after importing into the data model so the data size will get smaller.

      Using power query in excel and the data source is also excel. What could I have done wrong.
