How to connect to a Microsoft Access Database (Password Protected)?

Hello,

I am trying to connect Power BI to a password-protected MS Access File.

When I try and get the data by clicking "get data" in Power BI, select the MS Access file, it results in this:

I need the MS Database to be password protected, as all data contains confidential information.

Thank you.

    Hi,

    Instead of using MS Access connector use ODBC connector like this:

    Driver:
    Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb, *.accdb)};Dbq=YourPath\YourDB.Filetype

    In the pop up enter Admin and password:

    I hope this post helps to solve your issue and if it does consider accepting it as a solution and giving the post a thumbs up!

      Hi ValtteriN,
      your solution worked for me. Thank you for that.
      But I have now the issue that one table from the database is getting me this error. When I Open the table in Access it is there and I can not see why it should not be accessible. Database is quite old. 2007 or so.

      If you have a hint for me?
      Thanks

        Might not be the best solution but converting the database to .accdb resolved the second issue as well.
