How to access Excel source from Power BI Services portal?

I have need for excel based reporting with data refreshing once in day.

 

Is is so that one option is Excel in OneDrive for Business and another is Excel via On Premises Gateway?

Either will work but if you use a data gateway, you have ventured into Pro license territory. So, I would recommend OneDrive if you do not have Pro for everyone that will be viewing the report/dashboard.
