How can I select values for a function from a dropdown?

Hi guys,

I have a problem with entering data for a function I wrote.

The function "Instanzliste" works fine when I type in the element and optionally a filter.

But now I don't always know which elements and filters are available. Therefore, I use a data source to drag the elements and filters separately into a list. Instead of manual input into the fields, I would now like to have a dropdown with the entries from the lists. The selected entry should then be passed to the function.

How do I change the function so that it works?

Instanzliste = (Elemente as text, optional Filter as text) => ...

I hope you can help me.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Matthias

  • Hi Anonymous,

thank you very much for your answer.
I have looked at the example on the page carefully. Unfortunately I didn't succeed in placing the dropdowns when entering the parameters.

I have created the filters and the elements as parameters. It worked with Edit Parameters. Here I can use the dropdowns. However, this is the wrong position of the dropdowns. Here they should not be visible at all.

Here when invoke the custom function I cannot select entries from the dropdown.

PowerBI's example is also fundamentally different from my use case. The example runs the custom function and adds a column to an existing table.

My use case is that a new table is created depending on the parameters.

Do you have any other ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers,
    Matthias
