Google Analytics credentials. How do I know what is my currently connected account?

Hi

I am working with Google Analytics.

Some questions.

1

How do you know what is the (gmail) account that you are using?

I have read somewhere that is is a good idea to dump the current user and reenter the credentials (OMG)

What if you are already in that account? It would be a good thing to know that it is the current account and save time entering the credentials again.

I have searched the menus and I cannot find a place that says: "You are logged with x"

2

Is it possible to have multiple conecctions to GA from different (gmail) accounts?

Maybe I am not the first one needing this.

3

Where these credentials live in PBI? (or global credentials)

So I can go there and edit the connection.

And to understand if when I share with other developpers, what they should do to connect.

In an anwser below I copy the menu for credential, where you cannot see the gmail account.

By the way, it is hard to edit existing GA queries. most of the steps cannot be edited.

Another related thing

Wouldn't it be good being able to have several instances of credentials?

Now some instances of credentials cannot be duplicated.

Imagine an access to an ERP and you enter with different roles with different permissions (sales, operations, finance, etc)

Thanks

Hi, @Eduardo_Suela

answer to question 1: Access analytics - Analytics Help (google.com)

2. Multiple Connections to GA: Yes, it is possible to connect to multiple Google Analytics accounts or properties from different accounts in Power BI. In Power BI, you can set up multiple data sources, and each data source can be associated with a different Google Analytics account. This is useful if you want to analyze data from different accounts or properties.

see how:

3. Credentials live in "Data Source Settings." To edit your GA connection credentials in Power BI, follow these steps:

  • open the Power Query Editor.
  • In the "Queries" pane, right-click on the query that connects to Google Analytics.
  • Select "Edit Credentials" to modify the Google Analytics connection settings.

When you share your Power BI file with other developers, they will need to set up their own credentials by following similar steps. Each user should configure their own credentials to access Google Analytics data.

Hope this answers your question.

Sorry. It doesn't help

Let me explain myself for my point 2

Gmail account = credentials >>> Google Analytics account >>> Property >>> View >>> whatever

I am not talking multiple GA acc.

I am talking about multiple credentials = different gmail access points.

Imagine that you need to combine several GA in different cretentials in different gmail accounts.

For 1 and 3.
I am trying to find that option.

I always edited credentials in here

When you open the google analytics permissions, you cannot see what account you are using
