Get data online service error on Salesforce object

Dear,

I'm experiencing a issue while getting data on to the power BI desktop.

'When connecting to online service salesforce objects and log in to the specific environment I am able to load every object I would like except 'Account' when I load it I receive the following error.

 

'Failed to save modifications to the server Error returned OLE DB

 or ODCB error'

 

Anyone who can help me with that?

Hi @StijnJanssen were you able to find a solution? As a workaround, maybe you can try to test your connection with a 3rd party connector. I've tried windsor.ai, supermetrics and funnel.io. I stayed with windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the Salesforce connector in the data sources list:

After that, just grant access to your Salesforce account using your credentials, then on preview and destination page you will see a preview of your Salesforce fields:

There just select the fields you need. It is also compatible with custom fields and custom objects, so you'll be able to export them through windsor.  Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.

Hi @StijnJanssen,

I am not able to reproduce your issue. Do you use the latest version of Power BI Desktop in your scenario?

Please choose "New Query -> Blank Query" in Query Editor, open the advanced editor and paste the following code:

 

let
    Source = Salesforce.Data("https://login.salesforce.com/", [CreateNavigationProperties = true]),
    Account1 = Source{[Name="Account"]}[Data]
in
    Account1

 


If you still get errors, please go to File -> Options and settings -> Options -> Diagnostics and click "enable tracing", then connect to Account table from Salesforce and check the detailed logs in the traces folder. Also please help to post the detailed logs here.

yes Im using the most recent version 64 bit.

find the error message on account object of salesforce.

 

Can you help with this? the the log you find below the error message.

HI all,

 

it seems this issue occurs based on the user level logged in to the service, the 'object' issues we experience are based on a admin user account, if we login to another account the issue does not occur.

Any ideas what may cause this?
