I uploaded an Excel workbook into Power BI, but the default options for Get Data in Power BI Desktop does not seem to be able to get from the Power BI Workspace.
Is this possible to do? This seems like it should be possible but there is no option to do so. Is there a function that does this? Seems pretty basic but I am unable to find.

Hi @Anonymous
If you want to get data from an Excel workbook and transform data in Power BI Desktop, you can upload the Excel workbook to OneDrive for business or a SharePoint site you have access to. Then use the method introduced in below link to connect to the workbook in PBI Desktop.
Use OneDrive for Business links in Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
If you want to connect to an Excel workbook located in a local drive, you can use Connect to Excel in Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
If you upload an Excel workbook to a workspace in PBI service, currently it is not supported to connect to this workbook from PBI Desktop.

If you want to transform the Excel data you should place it on a Sharepoint/OneDrive, not import it into the workspace.
