Gateway error: Data source access error. Please contact the gateway administrator

I sign into the Power BI service using my email [email protected] which matches "whoami /upn" on the server. I think I have tried every possible mapping to change this to "domain\id", email lowercase, etc. and confirmed that mapping was working in the gateway logs. I have yet to see a different error message regardless of what mapping I use. I am assuming that if my email on Power BI Service matches that of "whoami /upn", I shouldn't need mapping.
Shouldn't there be some error logged on SSAS? Any other way to troubleshoot this?
Nooooooo! It started working today without me making any changes. Wish I knew the cause, but glad to see the result. I would still appreciate any tips on troubleshooting and whether there was another log I should have checked.
