Firewall Configuration for Power BI Gateway
Hello together,
we set up our Power BI Gateway like described here under the section ports:
https://docs.microsoft.com/de-de/power-bi/service-gateway-onprem
In our case we forced communication to https (port 443). The firewall configuration has not be done with IP-ranges but by using the specified domain names. This should work because we are forcing the communication to https if I understand right.
Nevertheless during the gateway installation (at the step of signing in with my account) the firewall blocks some communication to IP addresses:
- 40.114.241.141 (US)
- 152.199.23.37 (US)
Since our tenant is located in Ireland, I'm wondering why there is tried to communicate to US?!
Are there missing domains in the documentation?
What has to be done to get it work?
Since IP-addresses might change, I want to find a better and more stable/longterm solution. Can anybody help?
Best regards
Jens

I want to add one thing:
The blocked IPs are not in the Ranges given by the Azure datacenter IP-list:

Hi JensKlöker
I'd suggest you to open a support ticket to let them investigate your problem in-depth.
You could share On-premises data gateway service logs with them for deep investigation.
