File cannot be updated because of the user name
Hi everyone,
I have a Power BI file that accesses an Excel on a TEAMS server. Now I have the problem that the data source in the file path contains my user name (C:/User_Johndoe/Data). When another user tries to update the power bi file, there is an error message. Is there an easy way to solve this problem?
Hi, there are two ways you can collaborate with mates to keep the refresh on going.
1- Using parameters. Set a path parameter so you can write it down each time a person uses the Desktop and have the file in a local environment.
2- Look for the file in onedrive. The files you have on Teams are usually stored in onedrive. So you can connect to that file like the following post: https://blog.ladataweb.com.ar/post/185337134590/alternativa-para-conectar-power-bi-a-onedrive
If you go with solution 2, make sure to share the file to the users in the drive.
I hope that helps,

THX, Ibarrau. I tried solution 1 and even if I do not have any knowledge in using parameters, I was able to make it with the help of a Youtube-Video 😁
