Hi,
I've read about how this can be done for the desktop version of power bi, but I can not find a way to access a csv or xml file that is accessible on a url. Am I missing out on something obvious, or can you only use csv files if they are local, on share point or onedrive?
Thanks,
Dennis
In Power BI Desktop, you can use “Get Data->Web” entry to connect to the URL that points to a CSV file. After you create reports in Power BI Desktop, you can publish the reports to Power BI Service.
Regards,
Thank you for replying, but my problem is, I need it done in powerbi.com, without the user having to use power bi desktop.
@dcasso,
It is not possible to directly connect to the CSV file in Web unless you store the CSV file in OneDrive or SharePoint or local disk.
Regards,
Lydia
