Failed to directquery / Live connection to Postgresql Amazon RDS

Hello everyone,

I have a Postgresql database on Amazon RDS. Unfortunately a few months ago there was no possibility to create reports with Power BI having a direct connection or live connection with Postgresql as the data source.

Then create a Postgresql replica on Amazon Redshift. In this way I was able to create wonderful reports with Power BI.

It is a good solution but expensive !!!

Now I have seen that Power BI has included Postgresql within the list of supported data sources for direct or live connection, see in:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/power-bi-data-sources.

But I enter Power BI I try to connect directly to my Postgresql that is in Amazon RDS and I get this error:

Details: "An error happened while reading data from the provider: 'The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure.'"

It seems that it is necessary to install or configure something additionally?

But I don't understand it because when I connect to Redshift I don't need anything else.

Thanks for your help,

Good,

I have solved the problem !!!

If the same thing happens to any of you, you only have to do this:

Download Amazon AWS RDS Trusted Authority Root Certificates available at:
https://s3.amazonaws.com/rds-downloads/rds-combined-ca-bundle.p7b

Then you install it on your Windows computer (with MMC).

And solved, you can now connect to Postgresql with Directquery.

Cheers

Hi @FernandoJMM ,

Glad to hear that you have resolved your problem. Thank you for sharing this. We can also disable the "Encrypt connections" for data source to solve it, but it not safe enough for connection. The solution you provided is proper and great when using encrypted connections.

By the way, could you please post your solution in single reply so that others can find it more easier?
