Extract SharePoint page analytics and use as Data Source?

Hello,

I am still quite new to learning and using Power BI, so I was hoping someone could help with the following question:

I know you can select SharePoint folders and (online) lists as your data source.

Is there also a possibility to connect Power BI to extract some of the analytics from certain SharePoint pages? I am in particular looking to get the data under Page > Analytics (e.g. page viewers, page views, average time spent etc.)

We are currently copying these numbers manually into an Excel file, which I know I could also use as my data source but that of course only offers a static view of the data from the moment I entered the numbers into Excel. If Power BI could regularly extract the newest number directly from those pages, that would save me a lot of time updating the sheet and also allow for a more accurate representation of our page analytics.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @lbendlin,

Thanks for your reply! In the thread that you provided, it is stated that the call only returns the top 25 records. Another user mentioned in a comment that "If you're looking for a full-featured PS Script that takes as input a time span and a list of sites, and then outputs the UsageReports of the pages it contains as a CSV" which seems to be more close to what I was looking for. Unfortunately, the provided link is not working anymore. Would you happen to know about more resources for this kind of approach?

Many thanks in advance!
