Error with reordered columns - data switches from text to number when refreshed
Hello, I am having an issue with a Power BI report. I am reading from an excel file that has numbers then a letter or "-" and another number behind it. For these instances my data table is trying to convert text into a number and I can’t seem to correct it. I can change the Data Type to text but the error still states “We couldn’t convert to Number”. It is also stating the "= Table.ReorderColumns... error, as shown in the picture.
How do I get the report or table to switch to text on the cells with errors? The columns are switched in the picture but as you can see I have errors where the team has not entered a whole number.
I have turned off the option to autodetect type for unstructured data and that does not correct the errors.
Can you give your complete query? Ideally, in your Change Type step or any step where type change is referenced, you can locate the field name and replace the type number or type int64 to type text.

Changing it in the query corrected the issues. Thank you very much.
