Error O-data link SAP Businesby Design

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone is already familiar with the following error message and knows where it's going wrong:

"Failed to save modifications to the server. Error returned: 'OLE DB or ODBC error: DataSource.Error] OData: Request failed: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error. (Internal Server Error).

As soon as I execute a query via O-data link with SAP Business by Design, I often get the above message, while the query via excel works fine.

You would help me out a lot.

Kind regards,

Ramon

    Hi Anonymous

Do you use the lastest version of Power BI Desktop?

Which connector do you use in Power BI?

SAP Business warehourse connector? or via Odata?

If you use Odata, do you deploy the API Server and the ADO.NET Provider for SAP, provide authentication values and other connection properties needed to connect to SAP by clicking Settings -> Connection and adding a new connection in the API Server administration console.

Then when connect  to it with Power BI, do you enter the correct credential on the pop window in Power BI?

v-juanli-msft , thanks for your reaction.

'm using the latest version of Power BI Desktop. In addition, the data is imported via O-data. I've already received credentials for this from SAP.

I've called several reports and some of them work, some don't. Looks like there's a maximum number of rows that can be imported. Especially with large reports I get the error.

I'll see if it's possibly due to the rights as indicated in your link.

      Kind regards,
      Ramon
