Duplicating Queries to a New File

Hello!

I'm recently trying to clean my tables in Power Query before I create my PowerBI report. I'm using sample data so I can add filters and modify the columns and rows. When I do start to load my new data (I connected the files via sharepoint folder), will the filters still apply even if the filter is not included in the new table yet?

For example, in the sample data I added a filter for the names of four people in one column. When I load the new data, the table only includes 2 names. Therefore I have 2 additional filters in the table with no data since ther arent included in the new data yet.

Will I encounter any errors? These are all hypothetical since I habvent tried to continue with my report since I fear it might be all in vain.

Thanks!

Hi @msan ,

Not sure I fully understand what you are saying. If you only replace the old data source with the new one in the Advanced Editor in Power Query Editor, without changing the table structure (including column names, types), then the filters you create will remain and no errors will be reported.

Best Regards,
Winniz
