Direct Query to AS questions - need urgent help to edit query

I have a report which is using a direct query (data source type = SQL Server Analysis Services). It queries Dynamics CRM and I need to add another column to this query. I can't transform to edit query. Even when I do the DirectQuery connection is required step of adding a local model, I can't edit the query. How do you edit a query to pull in additional table columns?

Within the model, i hover over the table and it gives me the below.

directquery info

    Hi Anonymous ,

The two connection modes, DirectQuery and Live Connection, you can't go to Power Query for editing. Both connection modes are directly queried from the data source, only the data in the Import connection mode is into Power BI, which can be viewed and edited in Power Query.

It's suggested to connect to SSAS data sources in import mode and edit them in Power Query.

  • We have the same problem, we can no longer modify the existing direct query transformations. Not only that, there is no way to identify what is the exact source of the data sources. Because you can no longe go to the pre existing connection source settings. If we adda new direct query, we have the ability to perform basic transformations and everything works great. However, for the existing connections, nothing can be done because all we see is zero queries in the power editor.
