Does anyone have any detail information on the announcement from SQL Pass that Power BI will be able to deploy on premise in addtition to the cloud offering?
Solved! Go to Solution.
No problem. My interpretation of the article was that you would still use PBI desktop to design reports; As far as how MS plans on providing the on prem implementation any response I give would be a guess. So my guess at this point in time is that SSRS and PBI will remain separate. If this ends up being the case you could have a SSRS server and a PBI server but again this is just a guess the article is only a roadmap at this point i'm sure they are still determining the best way to implement the solution.
@Anonymous Check out this blog on the MS BI Reporting Roadmap. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the quick response
So does this mean I have to use SSRS to design BI content for on premise or will I be able to use the Power BI desktop and deploy it to an SSRS instance.
Thanks again for all of your help. My company is very intereted in the Power BI capabilities but at this time not looking to go to the cloud.

Thanks again - I really like Power BI. Looking forward to what 2016 brings.
