Date not populating

Agree with lbendlin but if for some reason you really want that as part of that column, you can do this:
Go into Power Query and make the Month, Quarter, Year fields by clicking on the add column tab and selecting the date dropdown and then selecting the above mentioned things.
Then when you load this into your Power BI report, you can select these columns in the field pane and make a heirarchy.
Strongly suggest to just make your own calendar table though and do it that way.
