Hello all,
I've used Power BI to create reports from Sharepoint with no issues. I've now started to use Dataverse to power my apps and i want to start creating Power BI reports from that data.
Yesterday i tried both the Import and Directqiery functions for the Dataverse Connector and in both cases, my choice columns are not coming in correctly.
As im sure you all know, choice columns come in as the choice ID number and the name, in 2 separate columns. However, my choice columns come in as 2 columns, the first with the ID number intact, but the in the name column the data is all "Null". Infact for one of my columns, the choice column only comes in as an ID number and doesnt even have a name column.
Whats going on? I cant really build reports with the choices just being a set of numbers... Its a real pain. Does anyone have a fix for this?
It is harder than it should be. One way to do it is to make a separate query using the OData connector (Organization Account authentication) with the string below, updating the text in red with your values for your environment URL and choice column name (dummy values shown as examples). From there you can drill into the Options table and the nested records in there. You can then merge the label into your original query with the option value.
