Dataset transition Desktop to BI Service
Hi TripsM,
After we create a report in Power BI desktop then publish the report(if there is no the same dataset name already existed in Power BI service), there will be a new dataset and report created in Power BI service with the same name as the name as desktop file. For example, there is a pbix file name test2018, after you publish the report test 2018 from desktop to service, there will be a dataset and report named test2018 in Power BI service.
In Power BI service, when we use Get data -> SQL Server Analysis Service to connect to SSAS, it will generate a dataset named <SSAS server name> - <selected model name>.
