DataSource.Error: AnalysisServices: The connection is not open.

Hi all,

I have a model that is published to Power BI Premium and when importing data from it to a new Power BI report I often get this "error DataSource.Error: AnalysisServices: The connection is not open." and sometimes it loads fine. Does anyone know what is going on here??

Best regards,

Kristjan

    Hi Anonymous

Do you publish the report from power bi desktop to workspace in power bi service,

then you want to connect to the published pbix file with Power BI Desktop?

Which connector do you use in Power BI Desktop?

    Best Regards

    Maggie

      Hi Maggie,

Yes, we have number of cubes, both that are build in PowerBI desktop and AAS. Then I want to collect monthly KPIs from each and every one of these models. I am using AnalysisServices connector, both when connecting to Power BI services and AAS, and like I said, sometimes everything runs smoothly and sometimes I get this error that the connection is closed.

      Best regards,

    I'm facing the same issue.
I'm importing data from a Power BI dataset through Analysis Server.

The data loads fine, but whenever any operation is performed in the Edit Query, I often get "DataSource.Error: AnalysisServices: The connection is not open." error.
Any solution to this would be really helpful.

    Thank you!
