Hi everyone
Have an issue with updating data source from OneDrive for business. It was worked perfectely till 09/04/17
Now it shows yellow "warning" behind data source and error: Can not find file on OneDrive for Business
But Excel file with right name stored in same folder as before.
We tried to modify, rewrite, rename, delete and put new Excel with same name. No luck.
After creating a new datasource from same Excel file with same name - updates works well, but report still didn't see any changes in it. Old datasource renamed as all_old - show same errors
How we can change or replace data source for our report?
Thanks a lot, Oleg

@OlegDVD,
Based on my test, when we directly rename excel file in OneDrive and rename it back, no error occurs in Power BI Service when I click "Refresh Now".
Besides, after directly connecting to Excel file in Power BI Service, we are not able to change the data source. We need to connect to the new excel file in Service and re-create report.
Regards,
Lydia
Firstly, when you delete the excel file from OneDrive for business, and upload excel file with same name to OneDrive, you would get the above error message.
Secondly, in order to refresh the dataset properly in Power BI Service, after you connect to excel file in Power BI Service, directly upload the changed Excel file to OneDrive and replace the old Excel file in it. This way, data changes will be updated in Power BI dataset and report within one hour as long as you turn on “OneDrive Refresh”.
Regards,
Lydia
Thanks for explanation!
Is renaming of OneDrive file throws this error too (without deleting)?
Even after we renamed it back?
Is it possible to setup new Excel file for existing data source in PBI Service?
Or how we can change datasources for existing reports?
Because we have a big complex report based on this broken data source.
Kind regards, Oleg
