Hiya all,
I am having this problem with power query and BI both - forcing me manually refresh numerous queries every time I fire up the engine.
The fact that I am using a data source from my organizational onedrive folder is also not helping as every refresh - literally every step of every query is taking enormous amount of time
Is there any help around with this and is there any method to make the refresh faster?
Thanking in anticipation

I'm having the same problem and I have another one with Power Query in Power BI Desktop. I can't cancel a current refresh using the “Cancel Refresh” button in the “Refresh Preview” button drop-down list.
can anyone help me?
here is the button while a refresh is running :
Hello

Hi
I wonder if this is not the same weird mechanism oaround the power query preview refresh
Maybet with from recent PowerBI Desktop update ? 🤔
Not sure why that is greyed out, but FYI that you can set up incremental refresh to speed up refresh for your published dataset. While you are developing, a good tip is to do Keep Top Rows to limit it to 1-3 files temporarily. Once done, just remove that step to load all files.

You probbly have checked "Always allow data previews to download in the backround" in Options / Global / Data Load
I recommend Allow data preview to download in the background according to each file settings
