Hi,
I am facing an issue in importing a report from the salesforce.com website.
It seems that in the get data dialog box, there is no reports whose name starts with 'N' and beyond (N-Z) though in the sales force.com we have reports having names starts with 'N'.
Red mark showing that we have reached to the end of the list
As you can see, that there is no report with names starts with 'N', what is the issue, ?
Please help me in this regard.
Hi @rbiswas were you able to find a solution? As a workaround, maybe you can try to test your connection with a 3rd party connector, which pulls data directly from the SF objects API. I've tried windsor.ai, supermetrics and funnel.io. I stayed with windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the Salesforce connector in the data sources list:
After that, just grant access to your Salesforce account using your credentials, then on preview and destination page you will see a preview of your Salesforce fields:
There just select the fields you need. It is also compatible with custom fields and custom objects, so you'll be able to export them through windsor. Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.
Hi @rbiswas,
Power BI Desktop uses Salesforce report REST API to pull report data, and Salesforce report Rest API has the limitation, for example, a list of up to 200 recently viewed reports can be returned, please check that if you hit the limitations described in this article.
In addition, please check that if your account permission differs on the returned reports and missing reports.
Thanks,
Lydia Zhang
Hi
I had gone through the article. But, it was not much of a help. It's really wierd that similar issue is occuring in the power pivot addin in excel.
Is there any other way to connect to salesforce.com.
Regarding account permission, in the salesforce.com I do have access to relevant reports.
Hi @rbiswas,
You can also directly connect to Salesforce content pack from Power BI Service. Or you can use Salesforce Objects connector in Power BI Desktop to connect to your data source.
Since Power BI retrieve all data that Salesforce connector provides, if your issue still occurs, I would also recommend you post the question in salesforce forum to get dedicated support.
Thanks,
Lydia Zhang
