Custom connector functions are called twice even preview is turned off

When the preview is turned off in the Power BI navigator window then a table is selected and load is clicked, all the functions supposed to be loaded are called twice in Power BI Desktop. 

This seems, even though the preview is turned off in the backend the functions written for the preview are actually called. Is there a way to limit this by Power BI settings or Power query code?

      Is there a way without actually posting the pq file here in public? Since it contains sensitive data.
      If possible can you share some ideas or workarounds for us to handle this?
