Criteria list from existing Table in Power Query

I'm not sure I have a name for what I want to do, so I don't know how to search for help.

I have a large sheet and in one column there are several types of Events. I want to be able to call those types out individually when I'm creating visuals, etc. but they aren't indiviudally available when I'm working in the report. I can use them as a filter but I don't want to filter the entire report just to get one variable.

I tried createing a list in the Excel doc that I imported but that didn't work. How

Hi @Anonymous,

If I understand this correctly you want to distill the values in the column to unique values only and then use it as a separate "dimension" table? Like

A

A

B

B

B

C
D

C

 to

A

B

C

D

Check Table.Distinct() funciton. This is also available from a column context menu:
