Credentials are required to connect to the SQL source

I created a dataset with PowerBI desktop. My data is in a Azure SQL database. The Azure SQL server is set up to "Allow Azure services" in firewall setup. In PowerBI desktop I can connect to this SQL database.

 

After publishing the report to the PowerBI online service I cannot manage to update the data. Ik get this error:

 

PersonalGateway_DataSourceKindLabel:

Credentials are required to connect to the SQL source.

...

 

Even after reentering the credentials in PowerBI > Settings I'm not able to get the data.

 

Any ideas?

    LegeDoos In Power BI Online you need to schedule for data refresh and pass server details, username and password.

    For more info check out the webinar held last week here based on connecting Power BI to different Azure services. Hope this helps!
