Is it possible to connect to sales force custom objects from Power Bi directly . If now does anyone have any workaround or suggestions to do the same .
Thanks ,
Mitsu
Hi @mitsu were you able to find a solution? As a woraround, maybe you can try to test your connection with a 3rd party connector, which connects to the SF objects API directly and is compatible with custom fields too. I've tried windsor.ai, supermetrics and funnel.io. I stayed with windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the Salesforce connector in the data sources list:
After that, just grant access to your Salesforce account using your credentials, then on preview and destination page you will see a preview of your Salesforce fields:
There just select the fields you need. It is also compatible with custom fields and custom objects, so you'll be able to export them through windsor. Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.
Hi mitsu,
According to my knowledge, it is not possible to connect to Salesforce custom objects and fields from Power BI directly. I recommend you vote this issue in this link.
However, you can choose to import Salesforce Reports, which could include custom objects and fields. For more details, please review this article: Salesforce content pack for Power BI.
Also you can create your own reports using Power BI Designer or Power Query in Excel. It's possible to connect to all Salesforce Objects, including custom objects and fields in these tools. Once imported, you can create your own reports and upload them to a Power BI dashboard.
Thanks,
Lydia Zhang
