Connecting to a spreadsheet on an internal document repository

All,

I get the error message Data isin HTML format error when I try to connect to an .xls file in an online internal repository. I have tried changing the settings of the data source to All of the options , added my internal id and password and still no luck.

Any ideas how to do this?

Thanks in advance

  1. Is it an XLS file or an XLSX file?
  2. Is your internal repository serving it up as an HTML file? If so, how? I know SharePoint does this, and SharePoint Online as well, but what is your internal repository?
  3. How do you view the excel file in the browser?

If you are just connecting to an Excel file (XLS or XLSX) that is on a web server as a file, that will not work. It will not download and open that file as it would if you were using the SharePoint.Files() connector. That is not acting as a web server.
