Connecting to On Premise SQL Servers
- Anonymous9 years ago
Hi Stharwani,
The Power BI gateway acts as a bridge, providing quick and secure data transfer between on-premises data and Power BI.
In your scenario, after you connect to SQL Server databases from Power BI Desktop, create reports and publish the Power BI Desktop file to Power BI Service, you can use gateway to refresh your dataset in Power BI Service, this way, each time you make changes in SQL Server data source, the changes will be reflected in dataset and reports in Power BI Service based on refresh schedule, for more details, please review the following link.
