Connecting SAP to Powerbi
Hi everyone,
Everyday, I have a dashboard that uses an excel file extracted from SAP. Everyday, I go to SAP and extract a variant report to excel. I then replace the yesterdays excel file with the new excel extraction and refresh&publish my PowerBI.
I am hoping to connect the SAP variant extraction to PowerBI (either directly from SAP to PowerBI or via Microsoft SQL) so I don't have to manually extract the SAP pull and replace the old file everyday. Anyone have any suggestions?
Hi emrei
You shouldn't have problems with connection. You have native connectors in Power BI
And there are hundreds of videos on YouTube and links explaining how to do it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PgRJ9vcw_E

Hi emrei,
The best connection method depends on your SAP system. If you use a supported SAP S/4HANA environment and the required report data is available through activated OData services, you may evaluate Power BI Connector for SAP:
It lets you select SAP services, entities, fields, and filters, then provides an OData endpoint for Power BI with scheduled refresh.
This can replace the daily Excel export if the OData services contain the same data required by your report.
A 30-day free trial is available.
